Learning Figma by the Cup
My Figma journey began with a thirst for knowledge (and maybe a latte). YouTube tutorials became my classroom, and I embarked on a series of small projects to get a feel for the software. One project that brewed up nicely was a coffee shop app design.
To craft a user experience as smooth as a perfectly steamed latte, I started by researching existing coffee shops. This helped me envision the ideal customer journey – the path users would take within the app.
For this practice project, I focused on the key touch points: browsing the menu, selecting customizations like drink size, and finally, the all-important checkout.
But a great cup of coffee isn't just about the taste; it's about the presentation. For the app's design, I aimed for a light and feminine aesthetic. Soft pink pastels and rounded corners set the tone, while icons with delicate lines added a touch of whimsy and airiness.
This project was a great way to learn the ropes of Figma, and it left me with a sweet taste of design success (and perhaps a craving for a real latte).
